American Society of Civil Engineers- Due Date 3/31/24

The Birmingham Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers is offering a scholarship to high school seniors. The scholarship is restricted to students who attend a civil engineering program at a university or college engineering program at a university or college in Alabama that has been accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-Engineering Accreditation Commission.

The Danya Wright Memorial Scholarship- Due Date 4/5/24

This scholarship is being offered to a senior that exhibits a strong commitment to their community.Requirements:Page 1- A list explaining your contributions to your community. This can be bullet format.Page 2- Using 400 words or less, describe a community involvement project that could be implemented in your community. Be descriptive as to how this would be implemented.Page 3- Using 400 words or less, explain the importance of community involvement.Please submit your required documents no later than April 5th. Please attach to an email and sendto destiny_smith@ecboe.org. Be sure to put your name in the subject line of the email. Do not include your name in the document.There will be a selection committee that will choose the recipient

Madison Wood Memorial Scholarship- Due Date 4/5/24

Madison Wood was a 2013 graduate of SHS. Madison was an intelligent,witty, and courageous student who fought cancer in her early 20’s. In her mother’s words, “She loved God above all. She wanted to be a help and alight to everyone.” She left a legacy of how to be kind and brave in the face of adversity. In memory of Madison, please write an essay on the following:
As you finish your high school career and look ahead to the future, what legacy do you want to leave at Sardis High School?
Please follow the following criteria:
 Must be no shorter than 300 words and no longer than 500 words
● Font: Times New Roman - 12, Double spaced
● Deadline - You must share your essay with Mrs. Wardrup(tara_wardrup@ecboe.org) by Friday, April 5, 2024.
● Must use Google Docs with your school email account. When sharing with Mrs. Wardrup, be sure to check “editor” beside her name before you send it.
● Title the document with your first and last name. Mrs. Wardrup will change your title to an assigned number before sending it to the judges.
● Do NOT use your name or family’s name in the essay.Essay will be scored on:
● Above criteria
● Grammar and Punctuation 
● Content A committee will judge. Essays will be anonymous. Recipients will be awarded scholarships at Senior Awards Night.

Etowah County Scholarship Foundation Scholarship- Due Date 4/1/24

The Etowah County School Foundation is now accepting student scholarship applications. One high school senior from each of the high schools in Etowah County will receive a $500 scholarship. Applications turned in after 4/1/24 will NOT be considered.

Alabama Teachers Credit Union Scholarship- Deadline 4/7/24


We are rooted in education and believe everyone can achieve success with opportunity. With our good faith in Alabama’s contribution to the future, Alabama Teachers Credit Union is accepting applications for our Synced Senior Scholarship. Four (4) $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school seniors! Winners will be notified by April 30, 2024!

Criteria: 

ATCU member in good standing*High School Senior with Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 or higher

Account must be opened for at least six (6) months prior to application

Provide high school transcript for the most recently completed semester

Letter of acceptance from accredited college, university or seminary

Provide ATCU with one (1) letter of reference from a non-relative

Submit a one-page essay based on the prompt, "How can you make a difference in our world?"

The Foundation for Marshall Medical Centers- Due 4/5/24.....ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE MAILED

The Foundation for MMC Scholarship Program is awarding two scholarships in the amount of $1,000. One scholarship will be awarded based on financial need and the other will be awarded based on merits only.

-Applicant must have at least an 80 average in core curriculum subjects during his/her senior year. 

-Applicant must score at least a 20 on the ACT. 

-Applicant must be planning to pursue a career in a health care profession.

Mrs. Blaker has sent the application packet in your school email or you can come see her for a packet. 

WinSouth Credit Union Scholarship- Due 4/10/24

WinSouth Credit Union will award ten high school seniors with a $1,000 scholarship. Winners will be announced in May prior to graduation.

  • You or your parent/grandparent must be a member of WinSouth Credit Union. 
  •  Applicants must be graduating from High School in 2024 with a 2.5 GPA or higher 
  •  Write a 1 ½ to 2 page essay, double spaced, explaining why you believe you are deserving of a scholarship. ○
  •  Outline your school and/or community involvement, family background, future goals and career plans. 
  • Must submit your high school transcript 
  • Submit two letters of reference from non-relatives who are able to explain your potential, experience, work ethic, ambition, and character. 
  •  These may include but are not limited to an appropriate instructor, guidance counselor, past or present employer, member of clergy, etc.

Etowah Education Retirees Association, Due Date- March 20th

The Etowah Education Retirees ASsociation will be awarding two scholarships of $1,000 to two deserving students pursuing a major in education. If you are interested, see Mrs. Blaker for an application. Packets must be mailed.
