  • Yearbooks from 2016-2017 are here!!! Last year's seniors may pick theirs up in the office starting May 18th.
  • Finals for 9th-11th grades is May 21st and 22nd. Make up Day is May 23rd if you have an excuse for missing finals.
  • Last Day for students is May 24th.
  • Varsity and JV Softball try-outs will be Monday, May 21st from 3:30-5:30. JH Softball try-outs will be Tuesday, May 22nd from 3:30-5:00. Everyone must have a current physical on file and/or bring a physical to the try-out before participating.
  • ​Baccalaureate is May 20th, 6:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Seniors should be there in the fellowship hall no later than 5:45. Seniors should wear their gowns but no cap. 
  • Library books are past due. Please turn them in at this time. Late fees will begin on May 9th.
  • Graduation is May 24th at 6:00 at the Snead State Gymnasium.
  • Varsity and JV Girls Basketball tryouts will be May 17th and 18th if needed.
  • ​Anyone interested in trying out for boys basketball for next year must go by Coach Owens' room to sign up and pick the required form. You must also have a current physical on file at the school before tryouts or you will not be allowed to tryout.
  • All picture proofs, including Spring Pictures, can still be turned in to Mrs. Golden or your first period teachers. We will continue to take these orders through Friday, May 4th. After this date, pictures can still be ordered, but the pictures may not arrive before school is out for the summer.
  • The lunchroom will not be taking checks after May 11th. Definately no charging and must pay off lunchroom debt before May 18th.
  • Yearbooks for this school year will go on sale May 7th. The cost will be $30 during the presale until May 18th. After that the price will increase. Yearbook staff will come to each class during 2nd period each day. You can also buy a yearbook before or after school in Mrs. Golden's room.

Congratulations to Mrs. Destiny Smith for being chosen as one of five state-wide finalists in the Secondary category for the JSU Teacher Hall of Fame. The Teacher Hall of Fame, sponsored by JSU, was initiated in 1969 to honor and give recognition to the classroom teachers of public schools in the state of Alabama.

In commemoration of Alabama's Bicentennial year, HudsonAlpha is launching Bicentennial Barcoding, a project to genetically catalog Alabama's native plant diversity. Twenty-nine teachers across the state, along with their students, have been selected to assist with specimen collection.
