Welcome to the Commerce and Information Technology Department at Sardis High School where we follow the pathway for Business Management and Administration.

Besides being the Business Education teacher, I have experience in the business world and feels this gives me real world experience to help prepare my students to be college and/or career ready.

The classes that are offered in our department are listed below.

Career Preparedness - This is a one-credit course required for graduation. It focuses on three integrated areas of instruction--academic planning and career development, financial literacy, and technology. Course content ranges from college and career preparation to computer literacy skills to ways to manage personal finances and reduce personal risk. 

Business Technology Applications (BTA) - This is a one-credit elective course designed to assist students in developing technological proficiencies in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, communications, Internet use, ethics, and careers using technology applications. Simulations and projects promoting teamwork, leadership, and workplace skills offer further opportunities for application of knowledge and skills. Students will also earn credentials in Microsoft Office 2019.

Advanced Business Technology Applications (Advanced BTA) - This is a one-credit elective course. Personal computing and business skills are integrated throughout the course as students use a variety of software applications to produce and prepare documents for publication and learn how to select appropriate software for generating information. A major emphasis is placed on guiding students through real-world experiences to aid in the school-to-career transition. Students will also earn Microsoft Office 2019 credentials.

Career Technical Education
