Course Objective:      Geometryis a high school mathematics course designed to prepare students for successbeyond high school—in college or at work. The course is aligned with the CommonCore State Standards with the goal of improving ACT scores for our high schoolstudents.

 

Textbook:                   Glencoe Geometry

 

Materials:                   Pencils

                                    Pens (allowedfor note taking only)

                                    Paper(college ruled preferred)

                                    3-ringbinder (1 inch binder with two dividers)

                                    Graph paper(optional)

                                    Chapter 2 –Reasoning and Proof

                                    Chapter 3 –Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

                                    Chapter 4 –Congruent Triangles

                                    Chapter 5 – Relationshipsin Triangles

                                    Chapter 6 -Quadrilaterals

                                    Chapter 7 – Proportionsand Similarity

                                    Chapter 8 – RightTriangles and Trigonometry

                                    Chapter 9 – Transformationsand Symmetry

                                    Chapter 10 -Circles

                                    Chapter 11 –Areas of Polygons and Circles

                                    Chapter 12 –Extending Surface Area and Volume
