The Etowah County School Foundation is now accepting Student Scholarship Applications.

Six $750.00 scholarships will be awarded—one to a senior from each Etowah County high school: Gaston • Glencoe • Hokes Bluff • Sardis • Southside • West End

Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Register to Vote
All current 18 year olds must register to vote by May 5th to be eligible on the 20th. If a student's 18th birthday occurs between now and May 20th they can register by May 5th as well to be eligible.

Theatre Students Attend State Trumbauer Competition

Theatre Students Receive Superior Ratings at the Trumbauer Competition

At the State Trumbauer Competition the following students received Superior Ratings:

Lillian Humphries received a Superior Rating for her Monologue

Joni Myers received a Superior Rating for her Monologue

Bella Blackmon and Marissa Lang received a Superior rating for their Musical Duet

Alexis Boley received a Superior rating for Puppet Design

Sarah Battles received a Superior rating for Costume Design.

Swimmers Lang and Battles are Heading to State

The following athletes secured new qualifications for the state championship, adding to their previous qualified swims:

Caleb Battles 200 Freestyle 100 Backstroke
Aubrey Lang 100 Butterfly

Battles was previously qualified in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Lang was previously qualified in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke.

Looking Ahead

These swimmers will now prepare for the AHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championship. The meet will be held on November 21st-22nd in Huntsville, AL.

Pierce, Griffith, and Jones Qualify for State in XC

Congratulations to Aidan Pierce, Sophie Clare Griffith, and Braxton Jones for qualifying for the 5A State Cross Country Meet November 8th in Danville.
